Please Help Send a Child to School for a Year
Tonight, I walked, as I have done many nights, up the narrow path that leads past Caroline's house up the mountain side not far from Fon-De-Neg Haiti. As I usually do, I stopped at the small home of my dear friends. We have become quite close over the last several months and I have looked forward to our visits and even missed them while I am away.
This family of seven live in a small one room house made of bamboo and grass with a rusty tin roof and rickety wooden door. There is a cooking place outside under another tin roof.
Though they have very little, there always seems to be a fire going and something bubbling in an old metal pot. Mama tends to the cooking and my visit prompts papa to send the little ones inside the small shanti for their sandals or to put on their best shirt to greet their guest.
This sweet family that seems to be lacking so much is never lacking a warm smile and a big hug. The youngest ones scramble for their place on my lap as I take up my position next to papa on the log bench that serves as the main living space under the shade of a mango tree.
I put my arms around these little ones and consider what the future holds for them. These precious gifts of God. Who He created in His own image to fulfill His plan for them.
How important it is that they be in school. Our hope at Caroline's House is to be able to provide the resources to put these children, and so many like them in school giving them the opportunity to explore their talents and meet their potential.
We would love so much for our friends in Minnesota and elsewhere to get to know these children through their photos and stories and to consider helping us in this way.
Would you consider funding three hundred dollars to put one of these children in school for the coming year?
Our children attend "Collage cosmopolite" (school of the heavens) - we have been very pleased with this school. Our students have done very well in the past and we look forward to a great school year ahead.
Thank you so much for considering being such a valuable part of their future by giving of your resources, and a valuable part of their lives by giving part of yourself in developing a relationship with them.
